Morning Reflections

When Joy Knows Your Name…

There’s something so special about being recognized.

Not for what you do.

Not for what you have.

But simply for showing up.

This morning, before I even had a chance to take it all in, Pegleg was already there—of course. He always finds me first. It’s like he’s been waiting, like he knows. And honestly… I think he does.

The pier was alive with happy energy. Birds lined up along the rail, wings fluttering in every direction, that familiar rush of excitement as they flew toward me. It’s a feeling I can’t quite put into words—but it’s the most beautiful feeling in the world. And somehow, it never gets old.

Domino came when I called her, just like always. There’s something so special about that connection, like a quiet understanding between us. And Ebony? He was in full form today—jumping on and off my phone like it’s his personal stage. His favorite place, his favorite game. I love how their personalities keep shining through more and more every day. Each one so unique, so expressive, so fully themselves.

Out on the water, a surfer caught a wave at just the right moment—gliding across the surface like everything lined up perfectly for him. And nearby, a black-crowned night heron stood so still, so composed, you’d think he was posing for photos. Like he knew exactly who he was… and didn’t need to prove it.

And maybe that’s part of the magic of mornings like this.

Everything just is.

No rushing. No forcing. Just presence.

And then, as I was walking back to my car, I saw a little movement out of the corner of my eye. My furry little friend popped his head out like, “Hey… remember me? Don’t forget me.”

And I smiled.

Because how could I?

Moments like this—big and small—are everything.

They remind me that connection is everywhere. That joy is always available. That love shows up in the simplest ways… if we’re paying attention.

And today’s little reminder, perfectly timed, perfectly placed:

“Small acts of kindness can make a revolution of love.”

And maybe that’s what this is.

A quiet, beautiful revolution… happening every morning. 💛

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
