Morning Reflections

Seen in the Morning Light…

There’s something so special about being recognized.

This morning on the pier, before I even said a word, Pegleg saw me first. He always does. There’s this instant connection—like no time has passed at all. And in that moment, I’m reminded how powerful it is… just to be seen.

The pigeons were lined up along the rail like they were waiting for the show to begin. And then suddenly—wings everywhere—flying toward me from all directions. That feeling never gets old. It’s pure joy. Pure connection.

Honey Girl landed on my arm, full of excitement, completely focused on her peanuts. She gets so happy, like it’s the best moment of her day—and honestly, it becomes the best moment of mine too. There’s something so beautiful about that kind of shared happiness.

Out in the water, a surfer waited patiently, reading the rhythm of the ocean. And when the wave came, he trusted it. There’s a lesson in that too—timing, trust, and letting life meet you where you are.

And just like clockwork, on my way back… my little furry friend popped out from the same spot. Like a tiny reminder that life is full of familiar magic if you slow down enough to notice.

What stood out to me most today wasn’t just the beauty—it was the connection. The feeling of being recognized, of being welcomed, of being part of something bigger.

Because it’s not just a bird thing… it’s a life thing.

“Spread kindness. Be the light for those around you.”

You never know who’s watching.

You never know who needs that moment.

And you never know how deeply it might come back to you.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
