Evening Reflections

There’s So Much to Notice…

Tonight’s sunset in Santa Monica turned into quite the adventure, but the beauty of the evening was worth holding onto.

The sun slowly slipped toward the ocean while the palm trees along Ocean Avenue reached into the evening sky. I always love doing a backbend and catching that view from a completely different perspective. Sometimes changing the way you look at something allows you to see even more of its beauty.

And somehow, I always seem to find my birds. Tonight, a hawk landed high on top of a building, another little reminder for me to keep looking up.

As daylight disappeared, the moon took its turn. Clouds moved mysteriously across its glow, changing the view from one moment to the next. It was one of those scenes you couldn’t recreate if you tried. You simply had to be there and notice it.

Tonight reminded me of something I believe more and more every day: there is so much to be grateful for when we take the time to look around.

The sun. The moon. The birds. The palms swaying overhead. The clouds passing by. Even the smallest moments can become something beautiful when we are present enough to see them.

And after quite a battle getting tonight’s video finished, I think there’s another little lesson tucked into this sunset too:

Persistence pays off. ❤️

Grateful for another day, another sunset, and another chance to notice the wonder that was there all along.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
