Morning Reflections

The Best Kind of Welcome…

There is something so beautiful about being welcomed by wings.

This morning on the pier, Romeo saw me and came running toward me. Seeing him hurry over with his tiny shadow stretching behind him was the sweetest thing. It immediately made me smile.

The pigeons were perched on top of the lifeguard stand, almost as if they were waiting and watching for me. And then came my favorite part. One by one, they started flying toward me. Wings everywhere. Flybys, circles and excitement filling the morning sky.

It truly feels like a celebration, and maybe that’s exactly what it is. A celebration of another morning together. Another chance to show up, be present and enjoy something as simple and beautiful as being together.

These little souls have taught me so much about life. They don’t worry about yesterday or rush toward tomorrow. They simply live in the moment they’re given. And somehow, spending time with them reminds me to do the same.

“When the why is clear, the how is easy.”

Adonis was high above in his lookout spot, keeping watch over everything. The pigeons eventually lined the railing, Moo looked up and gave me that adorable smile, and before I left, Pegleg made absolutely sure I saw him.

And still, the pigeons kept flying. Around and around they went, circling above the pier and over the ocean. I could have watched them forever.

What a beautiful reminder that happiness doesn’t always arrive in grand moments. Sometimes it comes running toward you on tiny feet, smiles up at you from the ground, watches from high above, or circles overhead on a hundred little wings.

So grateful for them.

So grateful for this morning.

So grateful for another day to notice it all.

Grateful. Always. 🤍

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
