Evening Reflections
So Much to See…
There’s just so much to see on the Santa Monica Pier.
Tonight, the sunset was glowing, the waves were crashing, and the Ferris wheel spun in a kaleidoscope of color. The roller coaster rattled with laughter and thrill, and a seagull floated quietly underneath the pier—like he was watching it all unfold. The black-crowned night heron was there too, tucked into his usual spot beneath the pier. I always look for him. I passed the “End of the Trail” Route 66 sign and smiled. It’s so awesome that it ends right here—on the pier, where the land meets the sea. As I walked away, the mural caught my eye again—so full of color and story. And above it all, the harvest moon was shining bright, overlooking the freeway like a gentle guardian. How lucky are we that we get to enjoy all of these beautiful things? Grateful for the layers, the motion, the stillness—and the way it all comes together when we choose to see it. Evening Gratitude Thought
Evening Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for sunsets, crashing waves, a floating seagull, the night heron’s quiet presence, Route 66’s poetic ending, the mural’s color, and the harvest moon watching over it all.
