Morning Reflections

Piles of Love…

This morning was one of those mornings that makes my heart feel completely full. Low tide stretched out beneath a beautiful cloudy sky, and then came my favorite part… the birds.

They were overly excited today. The second I held out my arm, they came flying in from every direction, piling on top of me like there simply wasn’t enough room to get close. Wings everywhere, little feet everywhere, pigeons everywhere. Their excitement is so beautiful. How can you not just love them?

And of course, Honey Girl came flying in from behind. She still hasn’t learned the meaning of sharing, and honestly, I hope she never does. It’s part of what makes her so sweet.

Then there was a brand-new little face today. A beautiful white pigeon with black markings who was so curious about everything. I named him Smudge. Welcome to the family, little one.

One of the pigeons was especially curious about the phone, looking straight into it as if he had something important to say. Then they all lined up along the railing, their little faces looking up at me, waiting patiently… or maybe not so patiently.

Today’s message felt perfect:

“You have 24 brand new hours today. Fill them with something beautiful.”

This is what beautiful looks like to me. Wings coming toward me. Pigeons piled on my arm. Honey Girl sneaking in from behind. A new friend named Smudge. And those little faces looking up at me.

I am so grateful for them every single day.

Grateful. Always.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
