Morning Reflections
Once You See Them…
This morning was one of those quiet, perfect gifts.
The sky was clear and blue, the air crisp and clean, and the birds were already waiting. Pegleg greeted me first, just like he always does. He knows our routine. The other seagulls tried their luck, swooping in to steal his food, but I made sure Pegleg got to eat. It matters to me. He matters to me.
The pigeons were happy—really happy—and I’ve learned that happy pigeons equal a happy life. There is something deeply grounding about being welcomed by these small beings every morning. They recognize me, and in being recognized, they come alive in a different way. So, do I.
These moments have taught me something important: when you slow down enough to notice, everything changes. The little things aren’t little anymore. A wingbeat, a glance, a familiar landing—they open your heart.
I’m endlessly grateful for the way these birds have expanded my world. They’ve taught me presence, patience, and care. Once you change your focus in life—once you choose gratitude—everything begins to shift. Beauty has a way of revealing itself when you’re finally paying attention.
Today, I am grateful for crisp mornings, loyal greetings, and the simple miracle of being seen.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
