Evening Reflections

Look Up. Beauty Is Waiting….

Tonight, Venice Beach felt like a reminder to slow my steps and lift my eyes.

As the sun slipped behind the horizon, the sky softened into gentle shades of blue, peach, and pink. The palm trees stood like quiet silhouettes, swaying against the evening light while the colorful graffiti walls celebrated creativity in every direction.

I held up my message that read:

“Slow down today. Beauty has been waiting patiently for you to notice it.”

That message stayed with me throughout my walk.

The moon was already shining above before darkness had fully arrived, watching over the beach as people gathered to enjoy another California evening. A pigeon perched on one of the walls, completely content, simply taking in the view. It reminded me that sometimes the best moments happen when we stop trying to get somewhere and simply appreciate where we already are.

Then I looked up.

High in one of the palm trees was the famous black leopard sculpture, climbing toward the sky. It felt like another gentle reminder to always look up. Whether it’s the moon, the clouds, the tops of the palms, or an unexpected work of art, there’s almost always something beautiful waiting just outside our usual line of sight.

Every evening walk teaches me something new. Beauty doesn’t ask us to hurry. It waits patiently until we’re willing to notice it.

I’m so grateful to call this place home.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
