Morning Reflections
June Begins…
The first morning of June arrived wrapped in soft gray skies and the steady rhythm of crashing waves. The ocean stretched out beneath a blanket of clouds, and even without sunshine, everything felt beautiful.
Adonis made his arrival right on schedule, perc hed high on the pole overlooking the beach. His wings spread wide as if he was welcoming a brand-new month.
The pigeons were ready for breakfast, gathering eagerly for their morning feast. Nearby, one very happy blackcrowned night heron had struck gold. He proudly carried a fish that looked almost bigger than he was. Sometimes persistence pays off in a big way.
Out over the water, pelicans glided gracefully above the waves. Watching them work together is always one of my favorite sights. They move as a team, supporting one another without competing for the spotlight. There is a lesson in that for all of us.
As I made my way back to the car, I heard the rustle of leaves and looked over just in time to see my little squirrel friend appear. It was as if he was saying, “Hey, don’t forget about me!”
A perfect ending to the first morning of June.
