Evening Reflections
Gratitude Changes Everything…
Tonight’s sunset in Playa del Rey felt like one of those evenings where there was always something beautiful moving through the view.
Ships passed by while others rested far out on the horizon. A speedboat raced across the water, and sailboats slowly made their way home as the evening settled in.
Then a Great Blue Heron flew by. It seemed to stay in the air forever, gliding across the water before finally landing on the rocks. There’s something so peaceful about watching a bird simply follow wherever its wings take it.
When I looked down at the rocks, I spotted a Black Oystercatcher. Such a unique little bird with that bright red bill and those pale legs. I couldn’t help but laugh because those legs look like they could use a tan.
The waves rolled in, the boats kept passing, and the sky softened into those beautiful evening colors.
And there in my hand was tonight’s reminder:
“Gratitude changes everything.”
It really does.
The more I stop to notice these little moments, the more beautiful life becomes.
Grateful for the ships, the birds, the ocean, the laughter, and another beautiful sunset.
