Evening Reflections
Fluorescent Surprise…
Tonight, I went down to the Santa Monica Pier, excited by the news that the water might turn fluorescent pink. Researchers had released non-toxic dye into the ocean to study how the breakwater affects circulation and water quality. I imagined glowing waves, a surreal shimmer—but the only thing that turned fluorescent was the sun. It melted into the horizon in a brilliant orange, casting light so vivid it felt like a painting. And honestly, that was enough. Expectations can be tricky. I came hoping for pink water, but I left with something even better—a reminder that nature always shows up, even if not in the way we imagined. The sunset didn’t disappoint. It never does. I’m grateful for the beauty, for the science unfolding quietly beneath the surface, and for the way the ocean continues to teach me about flow, patience, and presence.
Evening Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for fluorescent orange skies, for the curiosity that led me to the pier, and for the reminder that beauty often arrives in unexpected ways.
