Morning Reflections

Beautiful to Be Alive…

What a beautiful Sunday morning.

The ocean was sparkling, the waves were rolling in, and everywhere I looked there seemed to be another little reminder of how wonderful it is simply to be here.

A dog was running through the water having the absolute best time, splashing without a care in the world. A kite surfer caught the wind and sailed across the water, while a boat passed by in the distance.

And then came one of my favorite moments.

The birds saw me.

Here they came, flying overhead and circling through the sky. Their flybys always feel like a celebration, and somehow that feeling never gets old. Every single time, I find myself thinking, I am so grateful that I get to be here and experience this.

Of course, Pegleg made sure I saw him too.

The message I held this morning couldn’t have been more perfect:

“May something happen today that reminds you how beautiful it is to be alive.”

Sometimes that “something” isn’t one big extraordinary moment. Sometimes it’s a dog splashing through the waves, a colorful kite catching the wind, a familiar little bird making sure you notice him, or a sky suddenly filled with wings.

This morning gave me all of those things.

And once again, life reminded me just how beautiful it is to be alive.

Grateful. Always.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
