Evening Reflections

You Are a Masterpiece…

Sunset tonight at Fisherman’s Village felt like a quiet ceremony. All of the birds were patiently waiting on the rooftops for the fishing boat to arrive with dinner, as if they were all attending the same appointment.

Two pelicans were sharing a sweet moment, standing close like old friends who’ve learned the value of leaning in. A brave blue heron stood tall on top of a roof, his feathers blowing wildly in the breeze, completely unbothered by the wind. And then, something rare… a Cooper’s Hawk perched on a rooftop. I never see one of those over here, and it felt like a little surprise gift from the sky.

Everything moved with purpose and patience. The birds knew what was coming. They trusted the timing.

As I walked back to my car, I looked up and saw the Be Kind sign glowing above me. It landed right when I needed it. In times like these, that message feels even more important. Kindness isn’t small. It’s a lighthouse.

And then I held up my little paper message that read: “You are a masterpiece.”

Standing there between the water and the sky, surrounded by wings and wind and waiting, it felt true. Every bird, every moment, every person passing by. We are all brushstrokes in something bigger than us.

Tonight reminded me that patience can be beautiful. Gentleness can be powerful. And kindness still belongs in the world.

Grateful for pelicans, herons, hawks, and signs that show up right on time. Grateful for sunsets that remind me who I am. You are a masterpiece.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Tonight, I’m grateful for patient birds, unexpected hawks, breezy feathers, and signs that say Be Kind when the world needs it most. The sunset reminded me that we are all masterpieces, still being painted.

A handwritten note on torn paper held up against a sunset reflecting on calm ocean waters.
