Morning Reflections
Where the Wings Know My Name…
This morning felt like a quiet celebration the sky planned just for anyone willing to look up.
The clouds stretched wide and soft, like brushstrokes across a blue canvas, shifting and glowing as if they had something to say. And below them, life was moving in the most beautiful, ordinary ways… which somehow felt extraordinary.
A German Shepherd walked proudly down the beach, carrying his stick like a trophy, tail swaying with purpose. There was something so pure about it. Joy doesn’t need permission… it just shows up and carries what it loves.
And then there were my birds.
Pigeons lined up along the railing, eyes bright, energy buzzing. Each one so different, so full of personality. I love how they don’t hide who they are. They just are.
Honey Girl found her place on my arm like she always does, full of excitement for her peanuts, her little feet steady and familiar. Domino came when I called her, right on cue, like a quiet promise kept between us.
And then it happened again…
that feeling I’ll never get used to.
Birds flying toward me.
Not away.
Toward.
Wings open, trust in motion, choosing connection in a world that often teaches distance. It’s the most incredible feeling… like being met in the moment by something bigger than words.
And as I stood there, surrounded by feathers and sky and the sound of the ocean breathing in and out, this thought settled in:
“You owe it to yourself to go after all the things you’ve always dreamed of.”
Maybe that’s what the birds are always showing me.
Go toward what calls you.
Don’t hesitate.
Don’t overthink it.
Just fly.
Grateful for this morning.
Grateful for these little messengers.
Grateful to be reminded again and again…
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
