Morning Reflections

Where the Quiet Leads…

There’s something about a foggy morning that feels like the world is whispering instead of speaking.

The pier stretched out ahead of me, fading into the mist like it had no end. The ocean was calm, almost hushed, as if it was honoring the stillness of the moment. These are the mornings that don’t demand anything from you… they just invite you to be.

And right on time—like always—Pegleg arrived.

He didn’t rush. He never does. Just a steady, familiar presence, walking beside me like we had plans all along. Peanut time turned into walking time, and before I knew it, he was following me down the pier, step for step. There’s something so comforting about being recognized, even by a bird. It’s a quiet kind of connection that says, you belong here.

Out on the water, a little grebe floated effortlessly, like a tiny boat with feathers. Not far off, dolphins surfaced—just enough to remind me they were there, moving through the same peaceful morning. And then, a loon drifting along, completely unbothered, completely present.

Behind me, the pigeons lined the railing, waiting patiently, watching everything unfold like they always do.

And in the middle of all that softness, this thought came to me:

“Beyond the fog lies clarity.”

Sometimes we can’t see what’s ahead. Sometimes everything feels muted, uncertain, hidden.

But just like the ocean beyond the mist… it’s still there.

Clarity doesn’t disappear.

It just waits for the fog to lift.

And until it does… there is so much beauty in simply walking forward anyway.

Grateful for mornings like this. Always. 🤍

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
