Morning Reflections

Where Joy Takes Flight…

There’s something about a peaceful morning that feels like a quiet promise.

The sky was soft and gray, the ocean steady, and for a moment it felt like the whole world was taking a deep breath. And then… wings.

They came from every direction.

That feeling never gets old. Seeing them fly toward me with so much excitement, like we’re all part of something unspoken but understood. It’s pure joy. The kind you don’t have to explain.

Domino came when I called her, just like always.

Honey Girl landed on my shoulder, completely content and absolutely not interested in sharing. Some things never change, and I love that.

The pigeons lined up along the rail like they were waiting for their turn in the morning story. Each one with their own personality, their own rhythm, their own little spark.

Out on the water, kayakers passed by quietly, gliding through the calm like they didn’t want to disturb the moment. And not far off, a man was foil surfing—floating above the water like he had discovered some secret the rest of us are still learning.

And maybe that’s what mornings like this are.

A reminder.

That joy doesn’t have to be complicated.

That happiness can be as simple as showing up and noticing.

That connection can come in the form of wings, water, and a little handful of peanuts.

There’s no better feeling than seeing them happy.

And somehow, in that, I find my own.

“Your dreams are not an accident. There is something inside you that wants to be born.”

Maybe it shows up like this—

in the quiet,

in the movement,

in the things that find you

when you keep showing up.

And I’ll keep showing up.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
