Morning Reflections

A Flyby of Joy…

Some mornings feel choreographed by something greater than planning.

I stood at the water with a small message in my hand — We rise by lifting others — and before I could even take it in, the birds arrived. Not one or two, but from every direction. Circling. Sweeping past. A full flyby of excitement, as if they were saying, You’re here. We see you.

They didn’t land. They didn’t stay.

They just celebrated the moment and kept moving.

Out beyond the curve of the pier, a man foil surfing glided across the water like gravity had loosened its grip. Effortless. Quiet. Pure joy in motion. He made it look so easy — not because it was, but because he trusted the balance.

And that’s when it landed.

Joy doesn’t need to announce itself.

Kindness doesn’t need an audience.

Presence is enough.

The birds lifting into the sky.

The surfer floating across glassy blue.

A simple handwritten reminder held up to the morning light.

We rise by lifting others —

with words,

with stillness,

with showing up fully as we are.

Grateful for flybys of joy.

Grateful for ease where effort usually lives.

Grateful for mornings that remind me I’m part of something beautifully moving.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

This morning, the birds didn’t land —they circled me in celebration. Joy showed up as wings, water, and effortless motion. A reminder that lifting others can be quiet, playful, and free. Grateful to rise by simply being present. Grateful for the way happiness finds us when we slow down enough to notice.
