Morning Reflections

A Birthday Written in Light…

This morning felt like a quiet celebration before the world fully woke up.

The sky was layered in soft clouds, and the sun found its way through them anyway… like it always does. A gentle reminder that light doesn’t need perfect conditions to shine.

Standing on the pier, I watched the birds lined up along the rail, as if they were waiting for roll call… or maybe just waiting to remind me that consistency creates its own kind of magic.

Then came one of those little moments that feels like it was placed there just for you…

a beautiful dog with two different colored eyes, looking up at me with the happiest smile. One eye like the ocean, one like warm earth… perfectly different, perfectly whole.

I didn’t see Domino or Honey Girl this morning, which felt a little unusual… but something told me the day wasn’t done yet.

So, I came back later… and there they were.

Happy. Excited. Right on time, just in their own time.

And maybe that was part of the gift today too…

Not everything shows up when we expect it to… but when it does, it’s exactly right.

I held onto my message this morning as the light stretched across the water:

“You’re about to step into the best chapter of your life.”

And standing there… I believed it.

Not because everything is perfect…

but because I’m present enough to see it.

Grateful for another year.

Grateful for this morning.

Grateful for the light that always finds a way.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
