Morning Reflections

Where Joy Takes Flight…

Some mornings arrive wrapped in sunshine. Others arrive wrapped in clouds.

Today was one of those soft gray mornings where the sky seemed to blend into the ocean, leaving the world painted in shades of silver. Yet beauty has a way of finding us when we are willing to look for it.

Adonis was already perched high above, keeping watch from his favorite spot. Down below, the pigeons lined the railing like a feathered welcome committee. Before long, wings filled the air as they flew toward me, one after another, turning an ordinary morning into something magical.

The quote I carried today felt especially fitting:

“Perhaps life’s journey isn’t about striving to become something new but about shedding all that isn’t who you were always meant to be.”

Domino came when I called her, just as she always does. Honey Girl surprised me from behind, landing so gently I almost missed it. Soon my arm was covered with happy pigeons piling on top of one another, each one determined to be just a little closer.

Their joy is contagious. They don’t worry about tomorrow. They don’t pretend to be anything they’re not. They simply show up exactly as they are.

Maybe that’s the lesson.

Not becoming more.

Just uncovering who we’ve been all along.

Today, under gray skies and surrounded by wings, I was reminded that beauty doesn’t need perfect conditions to appear.

And for that, I am grateful. 💛

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
