Morning Reflections

Where Joy Finds Me…

There’s something about the pier at sunrise that feels like a quiet promise being kept.

The light stretched slowly across the water this morning, turning everything gold… the railing, the ripples, even the air itself. The moon still lingered above, like it didn’t want to miss a moment of it.

And then, right on cue, the joy arrived.

Pigeons lined up along the railing like they were waiting for roll call, each one with their own personality, their own little rhythm. Some flew in with wings glowing in the sunlight, others landed gently on my hand, trusting, excited, ready for their peanuts. Those moments never get old… they feel like tiny miracles every single time.

Out on the water, a loon floated by so peacefully, like it had nowhere else to be but right there. And nearby, the grebes were having what looked like their own little morning meetup, circling, dipping, dancing in their own quiet way.

Everything felt alive. Connected. Intentional.

And it reminded me of something so simple, but so powerful:

If you change what you are saying, you will change what you are seeing.

The more I speak gratitude… the more I notice beauty.

The more I expect joy… the more it finds me.

And mornings like this?

They feel like proof.

Grateful for another day.

Grateful for the birds.

Grateful for the light.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
