Morning Reflections

When the Wind Becomes the Song…

Venice Pier greeted me with rain and a wild symphony of wind this morning. The seagulls weren’t soaring as much as they were suspended—like kites, tugging at invisible strings between the ocean and the sky. The gusts were too strong for landing, too fierce for stillness. They hovered instead, wings wide, dancing with the storm.

There were fewer pigeons today, tucked away from the wind, but I still showed up for them. Even on days when nature is loud and unruly, the promise of nourishment is quiet, simple, and steady. I came to make sure they ate. No audience. No spotlight. Just presence, purpose, and peanuts.

Christmas isn’t always wrapped in sunshine. Sometimes it’s wrapped in rain—soaking the pier boards, tousling feathers, bending but never breaking the moment. And still, the beauty shows up. And still, so do we.

Gratitude today sounds like raindrops and windchimes. Love today looks like wings that refuse to fold.

Capturing Beauty, Sharing Light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Even when the world is too windy to land, there is magic in the hovering— in the showing up, in the feeding of hearts and birds alike. Gratitude is my anchor in the storm.
