Evening Reflections

When the Village Gathers for Dinner, the Heart Learns to Wait with Grace…

There is a gentle hush at Fisherman’s Village when the sun begins to sink into the water — the kind of quiet that feels intentional, like the world is holding its breath just long enough for you to notice it.

Tonight, the birds gathered long before dinner arrived. Great egrets stood tall and statuesque along the harbor’s edge. Great blue herons and black-crowned night herons waited side-by-side with the seagulls, all tuned to the same unspoken rhythm of anticipation. Even the sea lion made an appearance, adding his low, watery verse to the symphony of the marina.

Above us, the moon rose early, glowing like a lantern hung just for the creatures and dreamers. In the distance, snow dusted the mountains, glowing faint pink under the final light of day — a reminder that beauty doesn’t fade just because the sun has set. It simply shifts.

And then, as I walked back toward my car, I passed the sign that said: Be Kind. Two small words, yet so powerful they felt like the true crescendo of the evening.

I’m grateful for the waiting, for the gathering, for the snow, for the moon, for the soft lessons of patience and presence. Most of all, I’m grateful that God gives us moments like these — quiet miracles that feel like they were waiting bin anticipation for us too.

When the village gathers for dinner, the heart learns something sacred:

To wait.

To witness.

To be grateful.

And always… to be kind.

Capturing beauty, sharing light,

April

Evening Gratitude Thought:

When the sun dips low and the village gathers for dinner, I’m reminded that peace lives in the pause. In the waiting wings, the quiet waves, the moon’s soft glow, and a gentle sign saying, Be Kind.

Grateful for the moment. Grateful for the lesson. Grateful for it all.
