Morning Reflections

When the Pier Opens, So Does Joy…

This morning felt like a celebration. The pier was finally open again, and the birds were waiting for me like we had a reunion planned. The second I stepped out onto the pier, they came flying in from every direction, as if they hadn’t seen me in years. Their joy was overflowing, and it spilled right into everyone who walked by.

People stopped. They smiled. They laughed. They watched the birds dance in the sky and land in my hands, curious and brave and full of happiness.

I even made new seagull friends today. They joined right in, circling above, gliding low, and adding their own wild music to the moment. It felt like the whole pier had turned into a shared stage for joy.

I was holding my little quote about slow living, and it felt like the birds were living it out loud:

Slow living isn’t about doing less. It’s about noticing more. It’s about savoring this exact moment. It’s about letting nature remind you how simple happiness really is.

What touched me most was how everyone walking by got to experience it too. For a few minutes, strangers weren’t strangers. We were just people standing together under wings and sky, smiling at something beautiful.

These birds make me so happy. Not because they depend on me, but because they trust me. Because they show up. Because they remind me that joy multiplies when it’s shared.

Today wasn’t just about the pier being open again. It was about hearts being open too. And I walked away lighter, grateful, and full of quiet wonder — knowing that sometimes the smallest rituals create the biggest magic.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Today, the pier opened and so did joy. The birds flew in like old friends, their happiness spilling into everyone around them. I am grateful for moments that remind me how simple and contagious joy can be.
