Morning Reflections

Always Believe Something Wonderful Is About to Happen…

This morning carried the quiet promise of rain. The sky was soft and gray, the kind that feels like it’s holding its breath. But the birds didn’t seem to notice the clouds at all. They were pure sunshine.

The moment I arrived, I felt it. That rush of happiness that comes when they see me and I see them. I called out, and just like always, Domino came flying in. Right on cue. There’s something so comforting about that. A reminder that some things in life really do show up when you call them.

Honey Girl made her usual move, sneaking up from behind and landing right on my shoulder, perfectly positioned and ready for peanuts. She never misses her moment. Pegleg had a lot to say today, his voice carrying across the pier like he had important news to share.

I looked out over the fly zone, and the sky was alive with motion. Pelicans everywhere. Circling and gliding, writing slow loops in the air as the rain gathered in the distance. It felt like the universe putting on a quiet show just for us.

I held a small green note in my hand that read, “Always believe something wonderful is about to happen.” And standing there, with rain on the way and joy all around me, I knew it wasn’t just a quote. It was a truth. Because sometimes wonderful doesn’t arrive as sunshine. Sometimes it arrives as wings, familiar calls, and the simple happiness of being recognized.

And that is more than enough.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Rain was coming, but joy arrived first. Grateful for gray skies filled with wings, familiar calls, and the reminder that something wonderful is always unfolding.
