Evening Reflections
When the Ducks Line Up…
Tonight’s sunset at Oxford Basin was the kind that whispers instead of shouts. The sky slowly melted from soft gold into a pale blue evening, and the tall palm trees stood like quiet guardians around the water. Their reflections stretched across the basin like brushstrokes on a canvas.
Everything felt peaceful. As I walked along the path, I spotted a group of little ducks splashing in the water. One of them started bathing with such enthusiasm that circles of ripples spread across the surface of the basin. Before long, more ducks joined in, splashing and gliding through the calm water like they were celebrating the end of the day.
And then something magical happened. For just a moment, they lined up across the water… almost perfectly in a row.
It made me laugh because we all know that saying about getting our “ducks in a row.” Life doesn’t always look that neat and organized. Most of the time it feels like we’re figuring things out as we go.
But nature has a way of reminding us that even when things feel messy or uncertain, something beautiful might quietly be falling into place.
I held up my message that felt perfect for the moment:
“You may not see it yet, but everything is quietly aligning in your favor.”
Standing there watching the ducks glide across the sunset reflections, it felt true.
Sometimes alignment doesn’t look like perfection. Sometimes it just looks like a peaceful moment… a few happy ducks… and a reminder that life is unfolding exactly the way it’s meant to.
And every once in a while, if you’re lucky, you get to see your ducks in a row—even if it’s only for a moment.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
