Evening Reflections
Listen to the Wind…
Tonight’s sunset at Oxford Basin felt like nature was inviting me to slow down and listen.
The wind was moving through the palms, and their tall silhouettes swayed gently against the soft colors of the sky. The basin was calm, reflecting the fading light like a quiet mirror. Even though it was windy, there was a peacefulness in the air.
In the distance, a great blue heron stood along the edge of the water, perfectly still. Watching him reminded me how much patience and presence nature carries. He didn’t seem rushed at all. Just observing… waiting… being.
Ducks nearby were happily splashing in the water, bathing and sending little ripples across the basin. These simple moments always remind me how much beauty lives in the small details.
As the sun dropped lower and the sky turned soft shades of gold and lavender, I held up a message that felt especially fitting for the moment:
“Listen to the wind, it talks.
Listen to the silence, it speaks.
Listen to your heart, it knows.”
Nature always seems to repeat that lesson if we’re willing to hear it.
Sometimes the answers we’re looking for aren’t loud or obvious. They show up quietly, like a heron standing at the water’s edge or the sound of wind moving through palm trees at sunset.
All we have to do is pause long enough to listen.
Grateful for another beautiful evening.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:
Tonight, the wind was strong, but the basin was calm. Palm trees swayed, ducks splashed happily in the water, and a great blue heron stood quietly along the shoreline. Watching it all reminded me how much wisdom lives in nature. Sometimes the world speaks softly. If we slow down enough, we can hear it.
