Morning Reflections

When the Birds Come Flying In…

Some mornings feel like a little piece of heaven unfolding right in front of you.

The sun was shining across the ocean, turning the water into a sparkling field of light. Surfers were catching waves just beyond the pier, carving through the blue while the horizon stretched endlessly in front of them.

Then the wings began to arrive.

Happy pigeons came flying from every direction, gliding across the water and circling above the pier before landing on my hand for their morning peanuts.

And of course… Ebony stole the show.

He kept jumping on and off my phone like it was his personal stage. Every time I tried to film, there he was again, standing proudly on top of it as if to say, “Don’t forget about me.”

His personality is bigger than his little body.

Then I softly called out…

“Domino.”

Within moments she appeared, flying straight toward me like she always does. It amazes me how these birds know their names and respond to kindness.

While all of this was happening, surfers were dancing on waves just beyond the pier, moving in rhythm with the ocean while pigeons filled the sky above.

Two beautiful worlds moving together…

water and wings.

Moments like this remind me of something simple and powerful:

“The greatest gift we offer the world is the light we choose to share.”

Kindness spreads quietly.

Birds feel it.

People feel it.

And standing on the pier this morning with Ebony performing his phone acrobatics and Domino flying in when called, I felt so grateful for the light we get to share.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
