Morning Reflections

What Really Matters…

Some days arrive so gently they almost whisper. Today was one of those days. The ocean was calm, the sky soft and open, and sailboats moved slowly across the horizon like they had nowhere else to be. I stood on the pier holding one of my little messages, letting the breeze decide what happened next.

That’s when Domino flew toward me. She came in with confidence and grace, wings wide, eyes locked, as if she knew exactly where she was meant to land. There’s something deeply moving about being chosen like that. No words. Just trust in motion.

Not far behind her was Pegleg, standing tall with his wings stretched wide, following me all the way up and down the pier like he always does. I offered him a peanut in its shell, and he immediately threw it down. He prefers them out of the shell. He’s very spoiled… and exactly as he should be.

Soon the pigeons joined in, flying toward me with so much joy it felt contagious. Their excitement never feels rushed or forced. It’s pure happiness, the kind that reminds you how simple joy can be when you let it be.

Our bond grows stronger every day. Not because of anything grand or complicated, but because of consistency, kindness, and showing up.

As the sailboats passed and the water stayed calm, I was reminded of something I carry with me often: Time has a way of showing us what really matters. And today, what mattered most was right there in front of me. Wings. Trust. Peace. Connection.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Today reminded me that the most meaningful things in life are often the quiet ones. Being chosen. Being trusted. Sharing peace with those who meet you exactly where you are. I’m so grateful for these bonds and the way they grow stronger with time.
