Morning Reflections

Between Moonlight and Sunrise…

Some mornings feel extra magical, like the sky is putting on a quiet show just for those who take the time to look up.

This morning began with the moon still shining above the ocean while the sun slowly started rising over Marina del Rey. That peaceful moment when night and day meet always reminds me how beautiful transitions in life can be.

As I walked along the pier, I noticed something that made me smile. A pigeon was sitting in a completely different spot than usual, as if the morning had surprised even the birds. Little changes like that always remind me to stay curious and present.

In the distance, sailboats drifted across the horizon while pelicans glided effortlessly just above the water. Watching them skim the surface is one of my favorite sights. They move with such calm confidence, like they trust the ocean completely.

Right on time, Pegleg came to greet me. He always seems to know exactly when I arrive. Moments like that never stop feeling special.

Not long after, birds began chasing a fishing boat across the water, weaving through the sky like they were playing a joyful game of follow-the-leader.

Standing there with the moon above, the sun rising, birds flying, and the ocean breathing beside me, I thought about a message I love:

“Your magic isn’t meant to fit in. It’s meant to wake the world up.”

Nature reminds me of this every single day. Nothing in nature tries to fit in. It simply shows up fully as itself.

And somehow, that makes the world more beautiful.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
