Evening Reflections
Waiting Was the Miracle…
Tonight’s sunset at Fisherman’s Village didn’t arrive with fireworks or bold color. It was quiet, subtle, almost unassuming. But what it lacked in drama, it more than made up for in joy.
The real delight was watching the birds. They gathered early, lining the roofs and rails, eyes fixed on the water, waiting for the fishing boat. Some were already chasing phantom possibilities, circling in excitement before anything even happened. They just looked so happy, so alive in their anticipation.
One pelican stood proudly on a rooftop, chest puffed out, surveying the scene like he’d just realized he was Batman. I laughed out loud watching him. There’s something so pure about their excitement, their confidence, their joy in simply being part of the moment.
As the birds chased the boat, wings flashing against the fading light, I spotted something rare for this spot: a white pelican. I almost couldn’t believe it. A quiet surprise, just for me, slipped into the evening like a gentle gift.
And as I walked back to my car, I did what I always do. I looked up at the sign that says Be Kind. Such a simple message. Such an important one.
We never know what anyone else is carrying. Tonight reminded me that not every beautiful moment needs to be loud. Sometimes beauty shows up as anticipation, as laughter, as an unexpected white wing against the water.
And sometimes, the miracle isn’t what arrives. It’s the joy of waiting together.
Grateful, always.

Evening Gratitude Thought:
Not every sunset shines, but joy still shows up. Tonight, it arrived on wings, in anticipation, and in the reminder to always be kind.
