Morning Reflections

Unexpected Change of Plans…

Sometimes the best mornings begin with an unexpected change of plans.

The pier was closed for an event today, so I made my way down to the beach instead. Standing beneath the pier as the sunrise reflected in the pools of water was breathtaking. Seeing those golden colors from underneath the pier gave me an entirely new perspective. Sometimes all it takes is looking from a different angle to discover something you’ve never noticed before.

People often ask me, “Do you think the birds really know you?”

This morning answered that question once again.

Even though I wasn’t on the pier, they still found me. They flew overhead, landed nearby, and greeted me just like they always do. Along the way, I made a few new feathered friends. Under the pier, a snowy egret patiently searched the water with such quiet focus, while Adonis sat proudly in his usual spot, watching over the morning as if nothing had changed.

My little green note read:

“Blessings are coming. Believe that.”

Sometimes blessings don’t arrive the way we expect. Sometimes they meet us on a different path, under a pier instead of on top of it, reminding us that gratitude isn’t tied to a place. It’s something we carry with us.

I am so grateful for this beautiful place I get to call home.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
