Evening Reflections
Under My Favorite Tree…
Tonight’s sunset felt like a gentle reminder that every ending carries the promise of a new beginning.
I made my way to my favorite tree overlooking the bluffs and watched as the sun slowly settled behind the mountains. The sky glowed in shades of gold and amber, painting the landscape below in soft evening light. From up above, the moon was already shining brightly, as if it couldn’t wait its turn to light the night.
I held up my little message beneath the tree:
“Your courage to change creates your next chapter.”
As I stood there, I thought about how true those words are. Every new chapter begins with a single brave step. Sometimes courage isn’t loud. Sometimes it’s simply showing up, trusting the path ahead, and believing that something beautiful is waiting on the other side of change.
Just before the sun disappeared, a hummingbird settled into silhouette against the glowing sky. For a moment, it seemed to pause and enjoy the sunset too. It felt like a tiny gift from nature, reminding me to slow down and appreciate the beauty all around me.
Tonight, I am grateful for sunsets that bring peace, for moonlight that follows when the sun is gone, for my favorite tree, and for the courage to embrace whatever chapter comes next.

Tonight I am grateful for quiet places that help me hear my own thoughts. Grateful for golden sunsets, bright moonlight, a hummingbird silhouetted against the evening sky, and the reminder that every new chapter begins with courage. Sometimes growth arrives softly, one sunset at a time.
