Afternoon Reflections

They Were Still Waiting…

Today looked a little different.

I pretty much slept the day away, and apparently, I needed it. By the time I finally made it to the pier around 4:30 this afternoon, I wondered what I would find.

And there they were. Waiting for me. 🕊️

The moment I arrived; the sky seemed to fill with wings. Pigeons lined the railing, others flew overhead, and suddenly my later-than-usual visit didn’t matter at all.

There is something so beautiful about being recognized by them. I know some people may not understand that feeling until they’ve experienced it themselves. It isn’t simply about bringing peanuts. It’s about showing up again and again, until trust grows into recognition.

Adonis was high above in his usual lookout spot, keeping watch over everything. Honey Girl was there, of course, eagerly waiting for her peanuts. Pegleg made absolutely sure I saw him before I left. ❤️

The flag waved in the distance while boats moved across the water, and two sailboats crossed paths out on the horizon. Above it all, the moon was already faintly shining in the afternoon sky, quietly waiting for its turn.

And then came the flybys.

Wings everywhere.

Maybe that’s what made today’s message feel so perfect:

“Your positive energy can light up the world around you.”

Today reminded me that sometimes we need to rest. Sometimes we need to listen when our bodies ask us to slow down. And when we’re ready, the things that bring us joy will still be there.

Today, mine were waiting on a pier. 🕊️

Another beautiful Saturday. Another sky filled with wings. Another reminder of how grateful I am for this little world that somehow knows me too.

Forever grateful.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
