Afternoon Reflections

An Afternoon Full of Wings…

Today, I listened to my body and gave myself some extra rest. I’ve learned in life that when you don’t listen to your body, it has a way of speaking a little louder.

So instead of my usual morning visit, I headed to the pier this afternoon. And goodness, did my feathered friends let me know they missed me!

I don’t think the afternoon crowd quite knew what to make of all those birds flying toward me! Wings everywhere, so much excitement, and the most incredible welcoming committee anyone could ever ask for.

They were jumping into my bag, lining up along the railing, and hopping on and off my hands. Honey Girl even surprised me by flying onto my shoulder from behind! Romeo was there, and of course, Pegleg made an appearance too.

Their joy is contagious, and seeing them so happy fills my heart. I love these beautiful creatures, and I will always stand up for them. They deserve kindness, compassion, and protection.

Today reminded me that it’s okay to slow down. Sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to rest, knowing that life’s beautiful moments will still be waiting for us.

“I hope you realize it is a gift to be here.”

And what an extraordinary gift it is.

A beautiful afternoon, endless wings, familiar little faces, and another reminder of just how much there is to be grateful for.

Grateful. Always.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
