Morning Reflections

They Remember Me…

This morning, before the world fully woke up, I was welcomed.

Not politely.

Not cautiously.

But with wings.

They circled me as soon as I arrived — excitement spilling into the gray morning air. Jumping on and off my hands, landing, lifting, returning again. As if to say, where have you been? We missed you. Even though we were just together yesterday.

There’s something deeply humbling about that kind of love. No keeping score. No sense of time lost. Just recognition.

One little soul stole the entire moment. The baby. Big eyes. Soft feathers. Absolute certainty that she deserved my full attention — and she did. She stayed close, watching me as closely as I watched her, asking for nothing but presence. Not food. Not movement. Just me.

And I realized something standing there over the water: This is what it feels like to be fully received.

Nature doesn’t greet us with conditions. It doesn’t care about our schedules or yesterday’s worries. It simply says, You’re here. I see you. Come closer.

This morning, I’m grateful for wings that recognize love, for trust that arrives without explanation, and for small moments that remind me who I am when I slow down enough to notice.

Today, I’ll carry that with me. Open hands. Open heart. And the kind of presence that feels like home.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

Gratitude lives in recognition. In being remembered. In the quiet joy of knowing you matter —even without words.
