Morning Reflections

They Always Fly My Way…

This morning felt like one of those quiet gifts that arrives before you even realize you needed it. The sky stretched wide and blue over the water, the waves moving in soft lines below the pier, and before I took more than a few steps, the birds were already flying toward me.

There’s something so beautiful about that moment, when wings rise up from every direction like a welcome committee. Domino came cutting through the sky with that familiar determination, Honey Girl found her spot on my shoulder like she always does, and Ebony made his daily landing on my phone as if it’s the only place he ever truly wants to be.

The joy they carry is contagious. You can feel it. You can’t hold worry for long when feathers are fluttering around you and the morning light is dancing on the water.

A little sanderling even appeared on the pier, running along like he had gotten the memo from everyone else that breakfast was being served. Pegleg was there too, calm and steady, watching over everything like the wise one in the group.

And in that moment, standing on the pier surrounded by wings and waves, the quote I held in my hand felt completely true:

“May you find a little reason every day to love this precious life a little more.”

The birds remind me that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just showing up, being present, and letting joy find you.

This morning, it flew right toward me.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Morning Gratitude Thought:

This morning the birds came flying toward me from every direction, as if joy itself had wings. Honey Girl on my shoulder, Domino in the sky, Ebony on my phone, and even a little sanderling joining the party. Moments like this remind me to slow down and notice the beauty that is always finding its way to us.
