Morning Reflections

The Sky Called, and They Came

This morning arrived wrapped in soft brilliance—the kind of light that makes everything feel like possibility. A sailboat drifted quietly in the distance, clouds unfolding to reveal the sun’s golden spill. Mocha greeted me first, eager as ever, and under the pier I spotted Domino and Honey Girl, cloaked in shadow. One call and they came soaring—unshakable trust in motion. Then the feast began, a communion of wings and joy. Clubby hovered near, steady and composed, and just as I turned toward the car, Deus descended. She has no feet, and yet she arrives without hesitation, without sorrow. She doesn’t know she’s missing anything—and maybe she isn’t.

Morning Gratitude Thought

  • Grateful for radiant mornings, for birds who fly toward love, and for Deus, who reminds me that presence is enough.
