Evening Reflections

The Moon Knows the Way…

Some evenings leave a quiet mark on your heart.

Tonight, I walked the Ballona Creek Bike Path as the sun slipped below the horizon. The sky softened into gentle colors, the moon was already watching from above, and the bright bougainvillea glowed like little bursts of joy along the trail. Seagulls flew overhead, making their way back toward the beach, ending their day just as I was reflecting on mine.

But the most meaningful part of today happened before sunset.

The little pigeon I named Chance made the trip to Palos Verdes to get the help he needed. Carrying him there filled my heart with hope. I don’t know what tomorrow holds for him, but I know he was given a chance, and sometimes that’s where miracles begin.

On the drive home, the moon caught my attention, so I turned toward the ocean and made one more stop at the lighthouse. The moon wasn’t exactly where I had imagined it would be, but somehow that made the moment even more meaningful. Life doesn’t always unfold the way we picture it, yet it still finds a way to be beautiful.

That felt like a reminder.

There really is always something to be grateful for. Sometimes it’s a breathtaking sunset. Sometimes it’s flowers blooming beside a quiet path. Sometimes it’s the comfort of the moon overhead.

And sometimes… it’s knowing one small bird is safe tonight.

I’m ending this day with a grateful heart.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
