Morning Reflections

The Light Was Already There…

This morning felt like the world was still asleep.

The sky was wrapped in gray, the horizon barely there, like someone had gently erased the edges of everything.

No dramatic sunrise. No golden glow.

Just quiet.

And somehow… that made everything louder in a different way.

The waves whispered instead of crashing.

The air felt still, like it was holding something sacred.

A pelican flew by, gliding so effortlessly over the water, like it knew something the rest of us forget sometimes…

that you don’t always have to push—sometimes you just ride what’s already there.

The pigeons circled above me today, but didn’t land.

It felt intentional. Like they were choosing to stay in motion, to stay in the sky a little longer.

And then of course… Pegleg found me. Right on cue. He and his friend had a lot to say this morning—like two old souls catching up over coffee, except their café is the pier and their language is something you feel more than hear.

And as I stood there, in all that gray, I realized something…

The light didn’t feel missing.

It just felt… different.

Not coming from the sky,

but from the moment itself.

From showing up.

From noticing.

From being part of it.

Because the truth is:

“Darling, you do not have to wait for the sun to shine.

The light… it comes from you.”

And this morning proved it .

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
