Morning Reflections
If You Just Look Around…
This morning felt like a quiet symphony playing just for those willing to pause and listen.
The sun shimmered across the water, turning the ocean into a ribbon of light. I stood there watching a pelican glide just above the waves… so steady, so effortless, so majestic. Moments like that feel like time slows down just enough for you to really see.
Not far away, a black-crowned night heron stood patiently, waiting for a fisherman’s lucky drop. Those deep red eyes—so still, so focused—like little embers glowing with intention. There’s something so powerful about their quiet presence.
And then came my favorites…
Honey Girl with her sweet, crooked little walk, making her way toward me like she always does. Domino arrived right on cue—never late when peanuts are involved. There’s something so comforting in their rhythm, their trust, their joy. It’s simple. It’s real.
Just as I was heading back, almost to my car, a tiny voice in motion caught my attention—a hummingbird. Hovering like a little spark of life, as if to say, “Hey… don’t forget about me.” And just like that, one more reminder…
There’s always something more.
“There’s so much beauty all around if you just stop and look around.”
And that’s the gift.
Not that beauty suddenly appears…
but that we remember to see it.
Grateful for this morning.
Grateful for the reminders.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
