Evening Reflections
The Blessing in the Still Water…
Tonight, at Oxford Basin felt softer than usual… like the world had turned the volume down just a little.
The sky held onto that quiet gray, with just a hint of warmth near the horizon, and the palms stood tall like they always do, steady and unbothered. The water moved gently, barely making a sound… just enough to remind you it’s alive.
And then there was one little duck.
Swimming by itself.
No rush. No noise. Just gliding.
There was something so peaceful about it. No flock, no distractions… just being exactly where it was meant to be. It made me stop and think about how often we rush the process, wondering when things will come together.
But out there, in that still water, it felt like a reminder:
“Sometimes the wait is longer because the blessing is bigger.”
Maybe the quiet moments aren’t empty… maybe they’re preparing something.
Maybe being “by yourself” isn’t lonely… maybe it’s where clarity lives.
That little duck didn’t look like it was waiting for anything. It just trusted the water beneath it.
And maybe that’s the lesson tonight…
Keep showing up. Keep moving gently forward.
Trust that what’s meant for you is already finding its way.
Grateful for the stillness.
Grateful for the reminder.
Grateful for one little duck.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
