Morning Reflections

Surrounded by Wings…

There is something about a Sunday morning on the pier that makes the whole world feel a little lighter.

The sun was glowing through the morning haze, the ocean was calm and then came one of my favorite sights… wings everywhere.

They flew toward me from every direction, circling above the pier and landing along the railing. It is impossible not to feel good when I see them coming. Their excitement brings me so much joy. I find myself smiling without even realizing it.

Pegleg made sure to come greet me, and Adonis was high above in his usual spot, keeping watch over everything. The pigeons eventually lined themselves along the railing, soaking up the morning right along with me.

Out on the water, someone was foil surfing. It always looks like they are somehow floating above the ocean. Such a beautiful reminder to look around because there is always something interesting happening.

And today’s quote felt especially perfect:

“Maybe the richest life isn’t the one with the most things. It’s the one with the most reasons to be glad you were here.”

Standing on that pier surrounded by wings, watching the sunlight dance across the water, I couldn’t agree more.

Maybe richness really is measured in moments. In the things that make us smile. In the creatures that recognize us. In the mornings we never want to forget.

Today, I have so many reasons to be glad I was here.

Grateful for another beautiful morning and another beautiful day.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
