Evening Reflections

Still Being Written…

Tonight felt different. I started at the mural, the colors almost glowing against a sky that had no sun to offer. The clouds were thick and dramatic, heavy with rain, but instead of dulling the scene, they gave it dimension. The gray made the graffiti pop even more. Every brushstroke felt louder. Every heart on the wall felt brighter. It reminded me that sometimes contrast is what makes beauty stand out.

As I walked toward the beach, I looked up and noticed the macaw and leopard art in the trees. I love that detail. It’s easy to walk right past it. But if you don’t look up in life, you might miss something extraordinary. That felt like a message tonight.

Down by the water, the waves were crashing hard over the breakwater. Big, powerful, unapologetic. The air felt electric. I could feel the rain coming. There was no golden sunset, no soft pastel glow. Just storm, texture, movement. And yet it was beautiful.

On my walk back to the car, I looked up one more time and saw the Venice sign shining brightly against the dark sky. It never gets old. No matter how many times I see it, it still feels like a reminder. Even under gray skies, something is always glowing. And the message I held tonight said it perfectly: Your story is still being written. Even when it feels stormy Even when the sun isn’t visible. Even when everything looks gray. It’s all adding dimension.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Tonight, I’m grateful for stormy skies. No sun in sight, waves crashing over the breakwater, clouds thick with rain… and still, so much beauty. The gray made the murals brighter. The neon Venice sign glowed even stronger. Sometimes the drama gives life its dimension. Your story is still being written.

A collage of moody beach scenes with palm trees, sunsets, and handwritten notes creating an atmospheric coastal vibe.
