Evening Reflections

Look Up, There’s More…

There’s something about Venice at sunset that feels like a quiet celebration.

The Venice sign was glowing tonight, suspended like a little constellation of its own. It always makes me pause. Like the city is reminding you… you’re here, don’t rush past it.

As I walked, the sky softened into those warm, layered colors that never quite repeat themselves the same way twice. People gathered along the sand, silhouettes against the horizon, all of us watching the same moment unfold in different ways.

The graffiti walls were alive with color and stories, each one a reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be polished to be powerful. Sometimes it’s bold, unexpected, and right there in front of you if you slow down enough to notice.

Then I looked up.

The moon was already there, quietly shining above it all, like it had been waiting its turn. And it made me think about how much we miss when we keep our eyes only at ground level.

You never know what you might see…

a macaw stretched between the palms,

a leopard climbing where you didn’t expect,

or even a plane passing through the painted sky.

It’s all there. Always has been.

We just have to remember to look up.

And as I stood there, watching the last light settle into the ocean, I held onto this thought:

“May you never stop chasing the light in this world,

the light in yourself.”

Because that’s the real magic…

not just what’s out there, but what’s already within us.

Grateful for nights like this.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.
