Evening Reflections

Silhouettes Know...

Tonight’s sunset was one of my favorites. I love seeing the first silhouettes of people standing on the berm, all facing the same direction, all watching something beautiful. Even though I can’t see their faces, I know exactly what they’re feeling. You can see happiness in posture, in stillness, in the way someone leans toward the light.

Under the pier, the clouds glowed softly while a sailboat drifted through the scene like it belonged there on purpose. A fishing boat passed by, followed by a joyful storm of birds chasing dinner. That sight always makes me smile because I know how happy they are. There’s nothing hidden about their joy. They show it fully.

Surfers headed out for the night, hoping for one last wave. Boats, birds, waves, people, and sky all seemed to agree on one thing: this moment mattered.

I held up a small note that said, “When they say you can’t do it, do it twice and take pics.” It felt like the perfect reminder in a place that constantly proves what’s possible. Every sunset shows up even when the day says it’s done. Everything was perfect. It always is.

Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

I am grateful for silhouettes of people watching beauty together, for birds chasing joy behind fishing boats, and for sunsets that remind me to keep showing up. Even when faces are hidden, happiness is easy to recognize
