Evening Reflections

Surprise in the Gray…

Tonight’s sunset was such a surprise. As I was driving to the beach, the sky was gray and overcast. I wasn’t expecting much—just the ritual, the rhythm, the showing up. But then, the sky opened. The sun dipped into the ocean in a burst of bright orange, glowing like fire on water. Surfers floated in the stillness, and a sailboat drifted by, slow and graceful. The pelicans flew in endless synchronicity, gliding south in perfect formation. I wonder where they were going. I just love how they move—together, yet free. And then Pegleg found me on the beach. I usually see him up on the pier, but tonight he came to me. I love how he knows me. It was the most beautiful way to end the day. I am so grateful—for the surprise, the synchronicity, and the comfort of being recognized by those who matter.

Evening Gratitude Thought:

Grateful for orange skies after gray, for pelicans in flight, surfers in stillness, and Pegleg finding me on the beach. Grateful for the beauty of being known.

A pink admission ticket held up against a foggy pier with large support columns stretching into the ocean.
