Evening Reflections
Silhouettes in the Sunset…
Tonight’s sunset at Venice Beach felt like a quiet gathering of souls under a painted sky. The colors faded softly from gold to blush, and along the sandy berm people stood in silhouette, watching the day take its final bow. From a distance they looked like little punctuation marks in a long sentence written across the horizon, each one pausing to take in the beauty.
It was a little chillier tonight, the kind of evening where the ocean breeze reminds you to pull your jacket a little tighter. But the cold never seems to matter when the sky puts on a show.
Out beyond the waves, the flag was flying proudly in the distance. The water rolled in steady rhythm, wave after wave crashing along the shore like nature’s heartbeat.
I held up my message to the sunset:
“I’m such a ‘look at the sky,’ ‘look at the sunset,’ ‘look at the moon’ type of person. Stay in the car to listen to the rest of the song type of person.”
Because moments like this are exactly why.
Along the shoreline, dogs ran freely through the sand, chasing nothing and everything at the same time, their joy as bright as the fading sky. Watching them felt like a reminder that happiness often lives in the simplest places: a cool breeze, a glowing horizon, the sound of waves, and the freedom to just run.
Venice Beach has a way of turning an ordinary evening into something unforgettable.
Tonight, I stood there, bundled up, watching silhouettes against the sky and waves rolling in, feeling deeply grateful for the beauty that surrounds us when we take the time to notice.
And once you notice it, you realize the truth:
There is always something beautiful to look at.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:
Tonight reminded me how beautiful it is when people simply stop and look at the sky. Silhouettes lined the berm, waves were crashing, the flag was flying in the distance, and dogs were racing along the beach like pure joy with four legs.
