Evening Reflections

When the World Pauses, Miracles Speak…

There’s something sacred about the moment the sun begins to set in Venice.

Tonight, it felt like the whole beach knew it.

People gathered along the sand, silhouetted against a sky painted in gold and soft fire. And then it happened… that quiet pause. The kind where no one needs to say anything. Everyone just stops and stares, as if we’ve all agreed, without words, to honor the beauty in front of us.

It’s one of my favorite things—watching people be still long enough to notice.

Standing under the pier, I listened to the waves roll in like a gentle heartbeat. The light filtered through the pillars, and everything felt calm, grounded, and full. The moon was faint at first, almost shy, hanging quietly in the distance. But later, as I walked back, I looked up again—and there it was, glowing brighter, as if it had been waiting to be seen.

A dog wandered along the shoreline, nose to the sand, completely content in its own little world. Out in the distance, a sailboat drifted by, and the flag danced wildly in the wind like it had its own rhythm.

And then… my moment.

A black-crowned night heron tried to land, but the wind had other plans. It lifted him up again and again, like a kite tugging at the sky. He didn’t give up. He adjusted. He kept trying. And finally, I got my photo.

That felt like a little miracle too.

Tonight was a reminder that miracles don’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes they show up in stillness… in persistence… in light shifting just enough to catch your attention.

“Miracles are closer than you think.”

And sometimes, all it takes is pausing long enough to see them.

Grateful for this night. Always.

 Capturing beauty, sharing light.
