Morning Reflections
Sacred in the Storm…
Rainy morning walk on the pier. I just love the rain. It cleans up everything. Tomorrow, you’ll be able to see things you couldn’t see before. It’s God’s way of cleaning things up. It was so windy—Pegleg kept trying to land on the pier, but the gusts kept swooping him back up like a kite. The pigeons were hunkered down, tucked into corners, but so happy to see me. Rain or shine, they still need to be fed. I love being the only one on the pier. Millions of people live out here, and yet I’m the only one. There’s something sacred about rituals you do no matter what. I watched the birds lean sideways and lift their wings like they were taking a shower. It’s just beautiful in every way. Honey Girl still made her way to me. Her little crooked walk is so distinctive. She just loves to be held. She doesn’t want me to put her down. I just love my mornings.
Morning Gratitude Thought:
Grateful for wind, rain, crooked walks, lifted wings, and the sacred beauty of showing up—no matter what.
