Morning Reflections
Rushing Wings…
This morning on the Venice Pier felt like something I could hold onto forever.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of birds rushing toward you. It’s not just movement… it’s trust. It’s recognition. It’s connection. And every time it happens, it fills my heart in a way that’s hard to put into words.
The pigeons were lined up along the railing, waiting… watching… ready. And then, just like that, they came flying in—wings wide, full of excitement. It’s the best feeling in the world to have something to look forward to like that. To be welcomed like that.
Scooter was there too. My little tiptoeing, backward-scooting girl. She stood tall today on the railing, eager and brave, and I made sure she got plenty to eat. There’s something really special about watching her—she moves differently, but she shows up fully anyway. I love that.
Honey Girl found her usual spot on my arm, ready for peanuts, completely at home. That kind of trust is such a gift.
Out over the ocean, a pelican glided by so effortlessly, like it was painting a quiet line across the sky. I could watch them forever.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better…
I filled up the sink with water before leaving, and they all jumped in. Splashing, bathing, playing—completely in the moment. Pure joy. No hesitation.
Moments like this remind me of something so simple and so true:
Live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.
And this one… this one absolutely is.
Grateful. Always.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.
